Director of Information Technology

Overview of Major Responsibilities
Oversee the development, implementation and management of the short and long term assignments for the IT Department in accordance with FISC Policies and Procedures, while actively working with the IT Steering Committee, and Security and Compliance to achieve IT Strategic Goals.
 
Essential Job Functions
  1. Maintain strong working relationships with FISC's leadership team, production managers and client groups to effectively communicate IT vision and gain support for strategic technology decisions.
  2. Effectively manage and balance future technology decisions with overall architecture vision.
  3. Staff and manage the IT Department to effectively balance workload and priorities of all IT resources, as well as ensure effective management of IT user support, application development, telecommunications, network management, and research/development.
  4. Manage daily resource assignments within the IT Department.
  5. Provide insight, routine input, alignment and development of the IT Strategic Plan, while ensuring alignment with Corporate Strategic Plan.
  6. Develop and manage IT personnel ensuring cross training of personnel.
  7. Develop and maintain third party vendor relationships.
  8. Assist management in the selection of hardware, firmware and software for the networks, which includes management of purchasing functions for daily and long-term needs.
  9. Work with finance and management to provide tactical and strategic role for IT Projects, system conversions and company initiatives.
  10. Work with Security and Compliance to ensure:
    • Policies and procedures are documented, implemented, monitored and enforced.
    • Regulatory requirements and industry standards are maintained.
    • Documentation of annual risk assessment for IT.
    • Satisfactory rating is achieved for all internal/external regulatory and compliance audits.
  11. Oversee hardware and software inventory and maintenance agreements.
  12. Oversee IT Department Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan and sites to ensure compatibility.
  13. Create, implement and maintain a proactive maintenance schedule for FISC systems.
  14. Represent the IT Department on the IT Steering Committee.
  15. Other related duties as assigned.
     
Essential Qualifications of the Position
  1. 3 - 5 Years experience managing IT resources, or related field, including performance assurance practices.
  2. Strong leadership skills and prior experience in managing people.
  3. Absolute working knowledge of policy and procedure development.
  4. Project management skills.
  5. Able to effectively discuss and present technology issues in business terms and define desired results to all levels of management.
  6. Capable of setting IT direction and strategy for a multi-faceted services organization.
  7. Ability to balance long-term strategy and goals with more immediate, short-term business issues and concerns.
  8. Absolute working knowledge of Active Directory and integration with Exchange Server 2000.
  9. Knowledge of Windows NT, Novell Netware and OS.
  10. 2-3 years experience in network maintenance, certification preferred.
  11. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical, and problem solving skills.
