Work Healthy Award Presented to FISC Solutions, Third Year Running Lewiston, May 5, 2010 - FISC Solutions, a third party back office solutions provider, was recently presented with the Healthy Androscoggin Work Healthy Award for a third year in a row. The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce presented the award.
This award program recognizes businesses and organizations in Androscoggin County that have placed a high priority on promoting good health for their employees. The three main focus areas include: working tobacco free, encouraging physical activity, and promoting healthy eating. In addition to recognition in these areas, special distinction awards for those employers that have earned recognition across all three categories are awarded.
FISC Solutions received the Bronze level award for meeting requirements across all three categories. The award was presented to Leslie Brann, FISC's HR Generalist and Wellness Coordinator. "FISC has worked hard to maintain awareness for healthy working and is pleased to be receiving the Work Healthy Award again this year", said Brann.
The program encourages business support for a healthy lifestyle not only of the employee, but also the business. Advocates cite several benefits of a healthier workforce including: reduced absenteeism, reduced disability costs, reduced health care cost, improved productivity, and ultimately, money saved.
